Since February 2000, ASD has been the principle security consultant for a number of both large and small-scale projects involving Time Warner facilities. Aegis scope of responsibilities included (and still includes) design enhancement and system design responsibilities in such signature buildings as the Time Warner Building at 75 Rockefeller Plaza and the prestigious $1.8 billion (new construction scope) mixed-use Time Warner Center at Columbus Circle, located in the heart of Manhattan on the south side of Central Park. ASD’s tasks at both of these facilities consisted of consulting and security design services through all phases of planning, design and construction (master planning, programming, schematic, design development, construction documents, contract administration, commissioning), including access control, CCTV and alarm systems and an advanced central command center.

The Time Warner Center houses the worldwide headquarters for Time Warner, Inc., as well as a national broadcast center for CNN (a Time Warner subsidiary). Additionally, the building contains leased office space, high-end retail shops and restaurants, a Mandarin Oriental hotel, The Jazz at Lincoln Center and luxury condominiums. ASD assisted Time Warner in creating a “building within a building” by segregating access to corporate-owned spaces from the other stakeholder space, permitting entry only through specific portals. This required close coordination with Base Building and Fit-Out architects, engineers (of virtually every discipline) and the stakeholders involved.
