PEPSI BOTTLING GROUP, INC
VARIOUS SECURITY PROJECTS
US and Canada

In late 2001, The Pepsi Bottling Group (PBG) – the largest bottler of Pepsi products world-wide – began an aggressive initiative to assess and later upgrade the physical and electronic security of all US and Canadian production facilities. Upon the direction of PBG operational and security executives, ASD assembled a team of security experts and developed a unique process to review 55 production facilities in a very short period of time.

The review reports led to the development of a security master plan, including guidelines, policies and procedures intended to ensure minimum security requirements were maintained at all facilities.

ASD was retained to help in the assessment, design, implementation and ongoing support phases of this project. Post-assessment tasks involved technology analysis and selection, establishment of a national security support center, implementation of a corporate enterprise electronic security system complete with central badging operations, development of standards for security systems and levels of protection to be applied, and the implementation of procurement solutions for purchase and monitoring the installations. ASD now acts on behalf of the Client to monitor and support the ongoing operation of the system and conduct audits to ensure the solutions provided are properly maintained and supported by appropriate procedures.

Additionally, ASD has worked in close conjunction with PBG’s Corporate Engineering department to develop standard guidelines and specifications for use in all new construction projects and acquisitions.
