Campus Security Assesment
Ames, IA
ASD conducted an extensive risk assessment and physical security review of academic, service, research and housing facilities including operations, policies and pro¬cedures. The study also includes program system design for a large scale integrated security system to encompass elements of card access, alarm monitoring, communications, fire and security alarms and distributed workstation operations. Recommendations were also offered regarding physical security, environmental design, administration of the security function, maintenance, education/awareness and the management of access and key control.
A considerable effort was also devoted to the School of Veterinary Medicine, a large research and teaching facility located independently of the main campus. The facility consisted a single large building (14 acres 1150 rooms under one roof) and a number of smaller structures used primarily for research.
